About Dr Suzan Hatipoglu

Dr Suzan Hatipoglu MSc FRCP FESC FSCMR is a consultant cardiologist and cardiac imaging specialist. Her NHS practice is at the National Amyloid Centre at University College Hospital, London. Her special interests are cardio-oncology, heart failure and cardiomyopathy.

Biography:

Dr Hatipoglu graduated from Cerrahpasa Medical Faculty in Istanbul, Turkey, with honours and trained initially at the presitigious Cardiothoracic Centre in Istanbul, Turkey.

After moving to London in 2020, Dr Hatipoglu underwent specialist training in cardiac MRI (CMR) and cardiac CT scanning at the Royal Brompton Hospital.

Following her fellowship she worked as a consultant in general and maternal cardiology at the Royal Free Hospital, Kettering General Hospital and East Kent Hospitals, establishing maternal cardiology services at all three of these centres.

In 2025 she took up a subspecialist post at the National Amyloid Centre in London.

Research:

Dr Hatipoglu is widely published across a range of cardiological topics with a series of highly cited original scientific papers. She was awarded Fellowship of the European Society of Cardiology in recognition of her contribution to the field.

Honors:

Dr Hatipoglu has been awarded Fellowships of the European Society of Cardiology and the European Society of Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance in recognition of her contribution to research in this area. She is also a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians.
